Think Learning look forward to the NHS Workforce Forum 2019

By on October 8, 2019

Think Learning are proud to support NHS Employers and their annual NHS Workforce Forum, held this year at the Belfry Hotel in the West Midlands. The forum is in its 3rd year and is aimed at board level workforce leaders in the NHS.  Each year it goes from strength to strength with more attendees and a high attendance rate over the two days.

This year’s topics include:

  • NHS People Plan
  • The global labour market
  • Developing OD capability.

As a residential two day event the Strategic Workforce Forum gives delegates time to come together and more opportunities for personal and professional development, especially useful as so many senior leaders have worked across the NHS and have strong professional networks.

The keynote speaker is Anne McCluskey, Corporate Souls, “Exploring the finite and infinite mind: change yourself and everything changes”. Anne previously worked at board level in Bristol and Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trusts so has direct and relevant experience of OD the NHS (Connect with Anne on LinkedIn)

As Think Learning had a theme of ‘Engagement’ at this years’ Learning Technologies show in February, highlighting the new custom engagement features we added to Totara, we are looking forward to the session on day 1 by Bob Champion,  Executive Director of Workforce at North East London NHS Foundation Trust, “Keeping up the good work: Maintaining high levels of employee engagement”.  This session will be of interest to leaders who are passionately committed to successful and sustainable employee engagement, regardless of protected characteristics or affinities and Bob shows how to measure its impact on organisational success.

Finally, who doesn’t like to hear Paul Taylor, Assistant Director of OD at NHS Employers deliver a session or run a workshop? (Connect with Paul on twitter or LinkedIn as he’s very active on social media!). An engaging and popular public speaker, with a creative approach to workshops Paul is running a session on day 1 to build on Anne Claire Gillon’s talk, exploring the positioning of OD / HR practice in response to cultural, organisational and system change. Looking forward to hearing more from Paul and all the speakers during the event.

The full agenda for the event can be found here
