Multi-Organisation Functionality Supports Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs)
By Jamie Harwood on June 27, 2017
Sustainability Transformation Plans (STPs) have been designed to drive transformation in health and care delivery across the NHS and social care. STP plans often support the recommendations of the Carter Report, particularly the aim of making back office functions and services more efficient.
Having spent the last 10 years working with healthcare organisations in the UK we wanted to ensure the technology we support (predominantly the Totara Learn) is able to help organisations to deliver STP plans and work effectively within this new collaborative environment.
We recognise the desire for organisations to remain independent whilst also needing to collaborate efficiently towards common objectives, sharing knowledge and resources effectively.
We believe that Think Learning can help to support a number of the core objectives of the STPs including:
- Working across traditional boundaries by helping the NHS and Social Care organisations to achieve and maintain performance against shared, core standards.
- Improving quality and safety.
- Accelerating change.
- Developing the workforce to meet the needs of the Future NHS.
- Generating significant cost and operational efficiencies.
- Sharing performance and education data between NHS, CCG, GP and Social Care networks as part of sustainability and transformation partnerships or shared service agreements.
Our in-house development team researched the likely needs of STPs and we have extended the capability of Totara Learn for ‘multi-organisational’ use. This approach allows individual organisations to manage their own instance of Totara Learn (branding and organisation specific information such as employee data, workflows, processes, frameworks, reporting etc), whilst giving access for nominated administrators to access specific data reports that can be used to satisfy regional / national reporting requirements.
In simple terms, Totara Learn can be integrated with multiple HR systems (which effectively manages users and hierarchies on the system), but individual learners and administrators will be presented with content and branding that is relevant to the individual and their organisation. This simplifies the experience for learners only giving them access to relevant information.
- Supports and drives operational efficiency
- Increases compliance
- Flexible reporting
- Enhanced employee engagement
- Rapid implementation
- Your system – Open Source and future proof
We know there are already some great examples of individuals and organisations working together to create joined-up, integrated care that is centred around patients’ needs and we are keen to show how this can also be achieved across learning and development teams creating greater operational efficiency across STPs and effectively sharing knowledge and resources.
We have a wealth of experience not just with technology but also working with different stakeholders and running complex implementation projects, we are keen to work with STP boards to help organisations collaborate and implement technology to achieve key STP objectives.
We would welcome the opportunity to come and demonstrate how Totara Learn can be implemented using a multi-organisation approach within an STP to help you meet many of your key targets.
