Key Insights from our June 2017 Totara Healthcare User Group

By on July 5, 2017

In June 2017 we hosted our bi-annual Totara Learn User Group. Our user groups are a way for our clients to network, share knowledge and experience and feed into Totara development plans.

We were fortunate to be joined by the following guest speakers:

Guest Speakers

Lars Hyland,Totara – outlined the extraordinary growth of Totara, it’s cross-sector reach, some core roadmap indications, and a useful illustration of how customers, partners and Totara’s development/academy team make up the ‘Totara Community’.

Steve Rayson, Anders Pink – (one of the original founders of Totara, and a Learning Tech guru) gave a fascinating presentation on the Anders Pink app – ‘A better way to get briefed and stay smart every day’. Citing the research-based statistic that 70% of learners curate content for themselves, but only 14% of organisations have a curation strategy (Towards Maturity), he demonstrated the power and application of the Anders Pink curation tools. The Anders Pink app can be incorporated seamlessly into Totara sites and pages, and we’re keen to work with Trusts to pilot the plugin. If you are interested in getting involved with this please contact us.

Dr Kieran Walsh, BMJ Learning – gave us a deep insight into the BMJ e-learning catalogue, which comprises targeted online learning designed to improve knowledge in critical areas across the entire healthcare workforce

Our clients particularly valued the fascinating and insightful presentations from some of our clients:

Carl LanderBarking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust – The Trust has created a brilliant video to sum up the major organisational impact of their Totara implementation, including the ways that it helps Trusts meet CQC requirements. Click here to view the video.

Lucy Reid, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust – talked about how Totara LMS was replacing 7 Trust IT systems in her organisation, with their impressive work to manage Trust learning, appraisal, Nurse Revalidation, Care Certificate, and Supervision through Totara.

Paul NorrishTorbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust – talked about how Totara was providing exciting new Learning Technology possibilities in his organisation, and how mandatory compliance rates had risen by 15% in the 7 weeks after they launched Totara as their Trust LMS.
